Innocent world anniversary rose.

Today I received my new Innocent world dress, the Anniversary rose just waist jumperskirt. It is really lovely even more lovely than in the the pictures on Innocent world's site.

I ordered the green version of the print and must say that the shade is just perfect. It's this really dark mossy green with a hint of blue, which makes the pattern stand out quite nicely. I have to note that the dress is quite narrow on the hem department but over all the shape is marvelous and flattering.

Lolita blog carnival: My favorite print theme in lolita

my favorite print theme

Yes. It's books. I adore book prints and plan to own as many as I can. Currently I am making one and the dress above is one of my dream dresses. I also like the other dresses Juliette & Justine has put out with this motif but this one piece is my absolute favourite. (And I shall not even mention the Jane Marple library print. Yes please in every colour!)

So why books? Well first of all I love reading. Even my fiancée is sometimes jealous of my books. Secondly I am studying to be a librarian so what better print style for me? Thirdly books are my biggest inspiration. I love making coordinates based around stories like Harry Potter, Lord of the rings or anything with vampires or a Brönte sister as an author. So naturally wearing a dress full of books is the perfect way to declare my love of stories.

Lolita blog carnival: Three trends I never got into

Over the top sweet lolita

Well this is way too obvious. I haven't worn much sweet so this was one trend I never really cared about. I suppose it was too saccarine. Also I was still on full gothic mode when this started.

 Wigs

To this day I haven't worn wigs in lolita. I just find it rather tedious and always prefered the natural hair look. Although a curly, long wig has always tempted me mostly because my hair refuses to stay in curls for longer that half an hour.

 Teaparty shoes

Just never cared for them. I like a more delicate heel and they just don't have that.  Plus I don't think they would suit my style very well.

Are there any trends you never cared for? Please share in the comments.
